Home Theater Receiver Question?

I have an Onkyo HT-Sr800 home theater system. It uses the HT-R550 receiver. Unfortunately there was a storm surge that hit my house recently and my receiver is fried and will not turn on. That leads me to the decision to purchase a new receiver. I was wondering what receivers you all recommend. Not looking to spend a ton of money. I was pretty happy with the performance of the HT-R550 while it worked and at least for now will probably still use the same sub-woofer and speakers from the HT-SR800 system. It's possible that i might buy new speakers/subwoofer as well so I'd be open to discussion on that as well. I appreciate any help that can be given as far as what would be a good. Thanks in advance.
